I've pretty much given up on updating my devArt. XD The new interface works fine on broadband, but trying to do anything with it on dialup, where I'm stuck half the time, doesn't work very well.  Plus I've become hopelessly addicted to Ravelry, so all my knitting stuff is going up there instead.

(If you're a Raveler, too, feel free to go find me.  I'm InfiniteNesmith there, as well! :))

So I'll probably just be posting the occasional knitting project that I'm extra proud of, as well as any interesting photos I take.

Rock on!

Ugh

I don't know who thought this new devArt interface was a good idea, but...I hate it.

Really hate it.

To the point of thinking about deleting my account kind of hate it.

I miss the straightforward deviation view the most.  I used to be able to look at all the deviations I hadn't viewed yet, glance at the artist, the category, the title, and be able to go down the list of check boxes, checking off the ones I knew I didn't want to view, and *bang*, get rid of them.

C'mon, devArt.  I only log in once or twice a month, and trying to view a list of 100+ deviations only a few at a time?  Is not more convenient.  It is not streamlined.  It is not helpful.

It's exactly like the first time I used a computer with Vista. "What the hell is this, and how do I make it stop?"

Currently on the needles or in the planning stages:

-- a pair of socks, to take the edge off the aftermath of the Sweater of Doom
-- gloves for my brother, on the needles but the size needs checking
-- the Phoebe pullover for me, sometime in the future
-- a pattern as close as I can get to Marketa's gloves in Once, which will be available on my blog and on Ravelry once I've worked it out
-- a super-secret design project
-- a semi-secret not-for-me sweater project

Add to that the fact that I finally bought a spinning wheel (yey Ashford Traveller!), and you've got one busy, fiber-arts-obsessed Sammie!  I've immersed myself in this to the point of reading book after book about fiber production, yarn, sweater construction, and handspinning.  It's all so interesting to me.  I've never been this excited about a craft before.

If anyone is on Ravelry, I'm InfiniteNesmith over there, too, so give me a holler. :)  All these projects will appear there are they are knit (except for the super-secret design one), and here once they're done.  I'm predicting the socks will be first off the needles, but you never know!

Hi everyone!  Yes, it's me again, assuring y'all that I am alive and well.

In addition to general wellness, I have exciting news!  I've been thinking about it and making references to it for a while, but now I can officially announce that:

Northeast Knits is open for business!

If you love hand-knits and want to commission socks, hats, scarves, or sweaters from me, check out the Northeast Knits website.

I also have a couple of ready-made items for sale (and will be adding more as soon as I can) over at Etsy.

Thanks for all your comments and support on dA! :)

Here I am, emerging again after two months of not posting a thing in le journal here.  I have four active blogs and a personal journal...what can I say?

Recently-completed projects:

-- Spartan Pullover for my dad's Father's Day present
-- more self-striping yarn socks

Upcoming projects:

-- Clessidra socks
(I just ordered the yarn this morning, which I really shouldn't have done, but merino-silk trumps all other sock yarn I currently have in my stash!)

Still on the needles:

-- Red Sweater of Doom
(But this is coming along!  I swear!  I actually finished the cable on the back last week and started the moss stitch bit.)

There you have it.  It looks like I'll be finishing the Red Sweater of Doom this summer after all.
